Art, Nature, and Breathtaking Landscapes: Land Art is the Answer to Your Travels

[Translate to English:]

Land Art, an artistic movement that combines human creativity with the surrounding natural environment, finds fertile ground to express itself in Italy. At Edilfar Rent, we will guide you to discover some of the most fascinating Land Art works scattered throughout the country, immersing you in the magic of these extraordinary places. To combine with visits to nearby villages and cities or by having fun searching for them all over Italy, these open-air museums will make your travel experience unique and curious!

  1. Chris Bangle's Benches (Italy): There are over 90, mostly in Piedmont but scattered in some panoramic points in Italy. The first, red, was installed in 2010 in Borgata a Clavesana, in Cuneo, gradually spreading beyond the borders of Piedmont to various locations in Italy and Scotland. The idea, blending marketing and land art, is that these giant but familiar benches, inviting people to climb, sit, and become children again, offer a new perspective on familiar landscapes. To "find them all," there's even a specific map that indicates region by region where to find the one nearest to you bigbenchcommunityproject.org.

  2. Daniel Spoerri's Garden (Seggiano, Tuscany): Let's move to the beautiful region of Tuscany, where Daniel Spoerri's Garden awaits. Located near Seggiano, this charming garden is a true open-air museum. Spoerri, a Swiss artist, transformed a hilly terrain into a living work of art, filling it with sculptures and installations that blend with the surrounding nature, creating dreamlike journeys into human nature with lines incredibly similar to those of Nazca. Walking through the garden's paths gives the impression of entering a magical and surreal world.

  3. Terzo Paradiso (Assisi, Umbria): At the foot of the Basilica of San Francesco, there is an ancient forest that combines nature, history, and spirituality. A place immersed in silence, inspiring the renowned Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto in the creation of the Land Art work "Terzo Paradiso," symbolizing the reconciliation, more than ever hoped for today, between humans and nature. Walking through some marked paths, from the Piazza della Basilica Superiore, you descend into the Valley, reaching a wide clearing in the Tescio stream valley, overlooked by the Rocca Maggiore. Right here, FAI (Italian National Trust) has restored a thirteenth-century tower that allows you to admire the project from above; it consists of 121 olive trees arranged in a double row, forming three circles that recall the intersection between humans and nature but also the reinterpretation of the infinity symbol.

  4. Arte Sella Park (Borgo Valsugana, Trentino-Alto Adige): Finally, we arrive in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, where Arte Sella Park enchants us with its extraordinary Land Art works. This unique park is a fusion of art, nature, and mountains. Artists from around the world have created sculptures and installations that seamlessly integrate with the alpine landscape. Walking along the park's paths, you find yourself immersed in a magical and unique atmosphere, as the installations vary from path to path, and you will be surrounded by works that celebrate the beauty and fragility of nature.
